In China, we have many traditional festivals, such as the Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, and Dragon Boat Festival. My favorite is Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. On this day, the streets are filled with red lanterns, and every household is adorned with decorations. Bright and early in the morning, children put on new clothes and go with their parents to visit relatives, exchange auspicious greetings, and receive red envelopes with money. In the evening, the whole family gathers for the New Year's Eve dinner, also known as the reunion dinner, because on this day, all family members come from different places to reunite. After having a satisfying meal, we start setting off firecrackers. There are small firecrackers that explode when thrown on the ground, parachutes that ascend into the sky and then descend, and "Flaming Mountains" that emit sparks. After setting off firecrackers, we can watch the Spring Festival Gala together and enjoy various snacks. When it's midnight, we bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new year by exchanging New Year's wishes. The Spring Festival represents the arrival of a new year, and I love the Spring Festival. |
